Batman & Robin: Batman Returns (Review)
Citizen's Grade: Impressive.
Bruce Wayne is dead or gone, or both....Batman has been gone as well, leading many of Gotham City's criminal masterminds, mob leaders, & thugs to come out of hiding to take over Batman's city! What they are unaware of though is....Batman is NOT dead! Richard Grayson; the first Robin and later Nightwing, has taken up the mantle of the bat with the sometimes violently stubborn help of the NEW Robin....Damian Wayne (Bruce Wayne's son with Talia Al Ghul).
The two set out to clean Gotham City up,
but are immediately made aware that a sinister "Circus of Strange" group is active and making moves at the direction of the mysterious Professor Pyg. As Batman and Robin race across the city trying to put an end to the circus freaks, another "darker" element raises it's hand to take down Gotham's criminals....the Red Hood! Jason Todd has returned as Red Hood and brings his own brand of justice to Gotham....the penalty fits the crime!
As death and destruction rain down on them from two directions, Batman and Robin must fight old foes and new ones to save Gotham City from the carnage caused by the absence of their Mentor and Father...Bruce Wayne.
Grant Morrison (JLA, Batman, All-Star Superman) teams up with Frank Quitely (All-Star Superman, JLA: Earth 2) and Philip Tan (Green Lantern) to deliver another masterpiece of writing for our Caped Crusader! This series is awesome so far, and with the "superstar" team of Peter Tomasi & Patrick Gleason (both teamed together on the hugely successful Green Lantern Corps series) taking over soon, this series should be entertaining well into the future.
